To put it in context, this inner monologue would be taking place around the time of the beginning of Chapter Twenty-Eight. It doesn't really offer any new revelations, but maybe states what we should already know a little more clearly. (Really, I'm mostly just in ( Read more... )

Love your stuff! Just so you know, unless you're a LiveJournal user you can't read certain chapters of your story. Including the link you have for Chapter 28. :)

Actually, all of those chapters are locked to everyone (even livejournalers), because they're set to private. It's because of the photobucket bandwidth issue. I guess I should remove the link until I restore it. Thanks for reminding me.

Also, thank you. ^_^

ETA: I'm going to switch them back to public instead, since the images are gone anyway (until tommorrow). That way, it's at least there for people to read. I'm not sure how enjoyable any of it is without the images, but it'll at least provide the option.

The picture is gorgeous. I love everything about it-- her dress, her hair, and her eyes look really different. So pretty.

The drabble is really nice too. :D

Sorry, I've re-read it a couple of times and even went back to chapter 28 to see how it's supposed to mesh, but I'm not getting it. Because the pics are gone on chapter 28, I'm trying to remember some of what was there.

Question is Phi pregnant when Ripp tells her to rest? Because even in later chapters I thought Ripp, Phi, and Johnny were all still living together, when did they move? And the pics of Phi and Ripp at the flower shoppe, she doesn't appear preg.

Okay, I'm lost, but I look forward to your next updates to set me back on track.

It's dark. But I can relate. I have those inner places of scary shit too.

I just hope the picture of Ophelia is metaphorical. I recognize the reference, of course... drowned Ophelia with flowers being a fairly popular art subject... I'm hoping yours is an homage and not foreshadowing. It would be so sad if your Ophelia didn't survive her demons.

Just for fun, even though I'm sure you're familiar with them here are some other Ophelias drowning (or not, in one case) in other pools, starting with the famous Pre-Raphaelite one.

Thank you for sharing those. I hadn't seen them all. My Ophelia in the water is certainly an homage (I love the Pre-Raphaelites, and that image is one of my favourites), but I won't say much more than that for now. I love how her sim backstory has that connection to her namesake, with her parents both drowning.

I always find Ophelia(Hamlet one) tidbits fascinating. It's so interesting how many people automatically think that she's committed suicide because of the gravedigger scene. The actual account of her death by Gertrude describes her as falling accidentally into the river and laughing maniacally at her billowing skirts which held her up for a time. Suddenly, the water shifts, causing the soaked skirts to pull her under. To say that she committed suicide is to assume that the queen lied to protect Ophelia's immortal soul. Yet, Phi doesn't get the standard burial rites of any Christian, but simply those of a virgin because her death is questionable.

I really enjoyed the homage pic of Phi, BTW.

I have soooo much love for your reference here.

I love that your Ophelia recognises what she's got is amazing, even with all her past and her troubles and stresses. :)
