How about ME though? That is, I haven't read Watchmen but I want to; should I see the film first or should I read it and wait for DVD?

I think it really works as a big screen experience. The book does the mystery element and characterisation better, but there's very little difference before the last fifteen minutes of the movie... If you're going to wait until dvd to watch it anyway then read the book first, but seeing it at the pictures and without the expectations of the book will be rewarding.

I haven't read it (I'm going to) and I LOVED it, and didn't feel I was missing anything watching it.

I think you'd really like it - alternate history is right up your alley, even if the period is a little more recent than in your writing.

I'm doing fine, ta! Are you keeping well?

I'm very well, I hang out in a 19th century virtual world these day. It's... a lot more interactive than I've been finding Livejournal... Engaging and stimulation conversations, and wonderful imaginary worlds.
