I was upset about this! I also started wondering about how characters whose friend/partner dies (Gabriela) feel about characters who get theirs saved (Jake). Glad, sure, but surely resentful too.

Yes. Acknowledging his death with a comment along the lines of "we've saved the day, but too late for Aramu" could have made for quite a poignant note at the end of the episode.

I agree about how Gabriela should have felt watching what happened to Jake and Adam, too. I think she did look a bit cut up about it at one point, but by the end all she seemed to care about was getting some new co-presenters for her vlog.

I quite liked the running gag about her vlog, but yeah, time and place for everything.

Oh, I meant to confess last week that I am absolutely on the Jodie Doctor's side re the Other Doctor: she kills people! She is NOT the Doctor and this is NOT good! I can't wait to see how it all plays out though!

Yeah, I definitely still have reservations about the Ruth-Doctor! She's on the darker side of Doctordom, that's for sure. It was one of the things which made her strike me as Hartnellish - she seems pretty close to the Doctor who intended to brain a Stone Age man in An Unearthly Child (the four-part story, not the first episode). I've a feeling it may be the end of the series before we learn anything much more about her now, though. Gotta reserve our judgement until then!
