Well, I would love to be able to say that the annual Doctor Who special is my favourite Christmas TV. And indeed it probably is fair to say that one of my favourite parts of Christmas Day is sitting down to watch that year's Doctor Who special. The Box of Delights! I loved that show when I was a kid! I still get little flashes of particular scenes in my head now and again. I'm happy that someone else remembers it so fondly :)

I definitely recommend getting hold of the DVD and rewatching it. Those scenes will be every bit as magical as you remember them - although as I've said above, the story as a whole may not make quite as much sense as you once thought.

Hah! I bought that last Christmas and we haven't watched it yet. I think I will try watching an episode a day with Charles ...

Do! He will love it. There are six episodes, and the last is set on Christmas Eve, so what I'll be doing this year is starting with episode 1 on the 19th, and carrying on up to the 24th.
