~Second Act~

Well, it would appear that my arrival here was well-received. It seems that Lady Luck has set to it that I shouldn't be bored this summer after all. I thank you all for your hospitable welcome. I do, at last, feel settled in this new, once-familiar community ( Read more... )

I agree on the drinks. After moving out of the dorm and hauling everything to the attic, not to mention fending off the family of bats that have taken to living there, I could use a nice stiff drink or two.
But that's my limit. Mum said if I ever came home piss-drunk, I'd be sleeping in the treehouse for a week. And you know she doesn't threaten, she promises.

Ah, so you do have roommates! Oh that's nice. As long as you're not alone!

Oh, come on, Luxord! Where was it you spent a lot of time as a youngster? It was England. Binge-drinking capital of the European Union. It's a pastime in their culture of men of our age to go out and get completely hammered before stumbling into the side of a wall and spending the night in the local police station...

Yes, because "Hullo there, I have rabies and I'm mad as hell!" is the best way to greet a new roommate. But a couple of swings with a badminton racket gave them the right idea without hurting them too much.

Exactly. Guess what I did every single day when I lived in England after high school. And guess what I'd rather not get back in the habit of. I've realized that I rather like my liver the way it is.
Besides, the roof of the treehouse has mostly rotted away.

But Luxord, what's a attic conversion without some rabid bat roommates?! It's all part of the experience! Live wild! Get rabies shots!

Oh don't tell me you became part of their "booze culture"? I am interested by this! I can't quite imagine you in the guise of a "football hooligan", though...

You can't let the treehouse fall to ruin! Fix it! I insist!

I have gauged your interest then, have I? Good to hear ;)

Is there any particular area of your studies you would require any assistance in?

I could use a good review of everything! You can never be too prepared for the exams around here!

I-if you don't mind that is...

But of course! What gentleman would I be to deny a beautiful young lady her request?

Is there a day free for you this week to go over the material? I find that looking at it the day before an exam or earlier would be best ;)
