Could it possibly just have been what you'd eaten? If you start tracking it and keeping the meal tracker perhaps the meds might not be necessary? I hope you're going to the doc to discuss this. Take care!
Frustrating as hell. I'm sorry you have to go through it.
You'll have the disease for the rest of your life, I'm afraid, but you'll be able to keep it in check. Get the exercise and diet right for awhile and you'll be able to get off those meds. It's not an instant process.
(My grandfather went through about two rounds of this off-and-on thing before he was finally able to get off the insulin, but once he stabilized, he was completely asymptomatic for decades.)
You can do this. And you still need to come run a 5K or 10K with me. :)
