Oh, no, please say this didn't show up as new in the flist. Oopsie.
This really was great to write, because it seemed so truthful to the series. Nothing explicit, just a few simple moments right before they go into the Realm of the Unwanted.
After I finished, I sort of sat there and went 'huh, that makes sense.' I think this is different than anything else I've written, it has a lighter and more fun tone to me.
Az is the only person I ship DG with, I can't really see her happy with anyone else.

*LOL* that's ok, I enjoyed reading it again :)

And that's why it works so well :D

I just don't like the pairing of Cain/DG, he's much too old to be any sort of romantic interest for her, I prefer him as her father-figure while on the journey :)
Az/DG make a much better pairing, they were so close as children, and DG was so determined to save Az, no matter what :O
I do agree with you on that - Cain, I think, saw DG as a sort of a child from the beginning, but over time grew to trust her and care for her like a daughter. He hadn't found his own child yet and I think he felt bad about that. I think if he hadn't found Jeb, he would have used her to make up for that.
Even though everything could have been averted if DG had just held on, I have a bit of trouble blaming her for everything. I also think that it was something other than guilt and childhood memories that might have driven DG to save Az. Correct me if I'm wrong, but was it necessary for DG to go after Az while the others took care of the Sun Seeder? Couldn't she have found Az later?
