I don't get why this is such a big deal

Okay, this... is something I've been thinking about for a while, and what set it off was a friend of mine that is planning to go from being a girl to being a boy.

THERE IS SO MUCH LOVE IN THIS POST IT MAKES ME WANT T DRAW HEARTS AND RAINBOWS AROUND IT.

Ironically, yesterday the DJ's on the radio was discussing if it was 'manly' to cry. I promptly dialled in and gave them a piece of my mind on what society imposes on what is the right type of gender behavior, especially when crying is a HUMAN emotion. It was infuriating.

Your family sounds wonderfully accepting. I can't even make a joke about possibly being bisexual around my parents or I'd be shunned. I thought my youngest sister knew but when I mentioned it a couple of weeks ago she looked really disgusted, and that hurt me.
