*laughing* good rant. it's true, no one ever really addresses that. i've always kinda wondered that myself, when it came to the sort of vampire that omg suddenly has issues with self-control itself because someone accidentally cut their finger. i also don't recall seeing it mentioned anywhere except anne rice, but i haven't read anything in the genre for a longish time, so.
Yeah, and it wouldn't bother me so much if not for the fact that even the most elaborately-constructed vampire worlds just seem to gloss over that pesky menstruation thing.
