That was a wonderful story. It was deeply emotional and sensitive in a way that speaks to how the world treats people who are different. That and the mental and emotional strength it takes to survive. My heart breaks for Benny and Timmy.

I'm sorry it took so long to respond, but LJ wouldn't let me answer before tonight. Darn it.

I'm glad you saw what I wanted readers to see. Timmy must have had a couple of college relationships; I really can't see him not having someone, even secretly, after Skeeter.

I'm not sure where Benny came from. Maybe he's every young man who never felt like he could be who he truly was. I just know that every Benny should have a Timmy in his life, no matter for how brief a time.

Thank you, Em. I didn't intend to make it that way, but that's what happened.

A lovely read. I'm part way through the books and your style really reads a lot like them, but a more emotional, which is what makes good fanfic. I can see this happening for a young gay man like Timmy in those days. It was all too common. And the guilt he must have felt, being too young to realize what might happen or to have been able to help Benny. Glad Don was there for him.

I'll start by saying I love your "Maurice" icon. That's one of my all-time favorite books.

I'm glad you enjoyed this story, and I'm especially happy you think I captured their voices. I've been thinking a lot about teenagers who have a hard time accepting themselves, and I suppose that's where I got the idea for Benny.

Thanks -- I don't use it often but I love it. Loved the film too. I guess I need to get a Strachey icon soon.

I've worked with numerous teens and with men and women who had those same issues as teenagers. It's all too common, sadly.
