I love the heat of this story, the obvious intensity of feeling Don and Tim each have for the other right from the beginning. And I love Donald's uncompromisingly candid self-awareness. He wants to be swept away by his feelings for Timmy, but he can't quite let himself be. Not because he wants to guard his own heart, but because he doesn't want to break Timmy's. Which is proof positive that he's already a goner, of course....
A date with destiny, indeed. More, please?

I'm glad you enjoy working with me on these stories. You're direct and honest, and your help improves these stories so much. One of these days I should post the rough draft and the final, just so readers can see the difference. I'd post the finished piece first - I dare say nobody would want to plow through the rough.
The hardest thing to do with the bookverse characters is keep them from getting too emotional. It's difficult because I always picture Chad and Sebastian when I write, and it's not unusual for them to display an entire range of emotion and look great doing it.
I wanted Don to fight his demons in this one, and I'm glad you think I succeeded. Don knows what he is; he doesn't apologize for it, but he realizes that the things he does could potentially hurt the man who comes to love him.

Don never quite gets over his penchant for other men, I've noticed. He might not act on his desires, but he does sound wistful at times about being monogamous.

That and for all his wandering eye Donald's infidelities are purely sexual. He makes no bones about the fact that he is in a relationship and in love.

To Don, sex and love are different. Sort of. Sex with other men is just sex, but sex with Timmy actually means something. I think I can use Death Trick as a reference. Don comes home from being with Harold, and he tells Timmy that, as far as the two of them being solid, Timmy has nothing to worry about.
