My parents still let me use their account for Instant Watch, since I can't put actual DVDs on the queue anymore (what with the whole not-living-at-home-right-now thing and all). Right now, all I have on my agenda are:
Fawlty Towers (one episode left!) As much Classic Doctor Who as they have on Instant and maybe Monty Python's Flying Circus a little later
I still need to check and see what anime they have on Instant...
I'm tempted to try the instant watch, but I get interrupted so much I'm not sure if that would worth doing. Can you pause the movie if you want to, or do you have to watch it all in one go?
You can pause Instant Watch, but if you leave it paused for too long it times out. But you can just start where you left off by clicking the Refresh button. Also, when watching TV series, you can skip around from episode to episode.
In other words, it will remember where you left off.
Thanks for the info. That might be the way I watch things like Dante's Cove since I really don't want the DVDs hanging around here for the kids to see. I had to hide my DVD set of Queer as Folk. They're still too young for quite a bit of that stuff.
omg so much is on my queue...i've not checked in a while...we've been watching star trek deep space nine on disc, and i'm slowly going through queer as folk
on instant, we've been watching torchwood...which you MUST see
I see that Adam with Hugh Dancy is now on DVD, so I put that at the top of my list to get this Saturday. After that, I want to watch the series The Day the Universe Changed which I watched on PBS as a kid. Netflix recommended The Cove which is a dramumentary (it's riveting like a drama, but it really is a documentary 'cause it's all true).
Next month when I get my new computer, I will finally be able to watch movies online.
My work gives me a deal for HP computers, so I picked out an HP Pavilion with one of those quad processors. I upgraded the RAM, the graphics card and the audio, and got a deal on a bigger hard drive and 20 inch HD-ready monitor. Overall, only $804 (including tax). It's not the top of the line because I don't play those graphics-intense games, but I wanted to stream video (currently, I can barely stream YouTube) as well as edit video, and continue streaming and editing audio like I did with my old computer (which was the premiere PC to do that sort of thing back in the day).
Netflix has this thing where you can become friends with other people who have accounts and recommend movies to each other and send notes, and see what's on each others' ques :B My account is under madlovescience.
