The whole end of the world/death talk...s'not fun for me...and yet. This was pretty damn great. And that last line--perfect, as last lines must be.
Thank you.

Thank you for the comments. I'm glad that you enjoyed it, despite the end of the world stuff.

“Because if I could pick what my heaven was like, you’d be a part of it.”

Dean stares at him and Sam has to fight the urge to bolt from the car and go rushing into the crypt where the ghouls are holed up. Sure, there isn’t anything he can actually do until the sun goes down, but at least, he’d be able to get away from his brother’s gaze. Sam shuts his eyes, waiting for the expected sarcastic comment, but none comes.

After a few more seconds pass, Dean says, almost inaudibly, “Us being together is a given.”

This made me cry. I need to drink.

I can't decide if making you cry is a good or bad thing. I'm hoping for good.

Thanks for the comments.

Aww, it's the end of the world, and the brothers still find it difficult to express their feelings. But somehow, they manage it anyway. They're so close they can decode:
"You're an ass"
to
"I love you and I'm scared shitless."
Aww.

Exactly. I love that about the boys - that they can decipher all the little things to mean more. I'm glad to know that I managed to do that a little well.

I have to admit I was a bit worried about this story - how to strike the balance with the brothers' relationship and still letting the things get said that need to.

So yay for you liking it! Thanks darling!

Awesome story. I like this scenario of how the brothers go out: together and fighting to the end, with plenty of banter and even some manly admissions of love. :)

Favorite lines:

“No one liked Batman and Robin.”

*snicker* Amen. Man, that movie sucked.

“At least I won’t have to pay those student loans back.”

“Dean nods and says, “Sure, it works out for you. I’m never going to know if Sam and Jason got back together on General Hospital.”

LOL at both guys here, but especially at Dean and the idea that he watches GH. I can see him liking Sam and Jason, though ... he'd think Jason's cool, and he'd leer at Sam.

“ “This end of the world shit is pretty damn boring.”

*snicker*

“And second, only you would be facing the demise of the human race and wondering where the hell the porn is.”

“If I’m going to die, I want to die happy.”

LOL! Of course Dean would think of sex when the world's ending.

“At least we’re together,” Sam says. “That counts for something ( ... )

Thanks so much for the comments. I couldn't have the boys NOT bantering at the end of the world. They say so much to each other in what they don't really say usually.

But even so, I needed a few small admissions of love. And I'm glad it came across the right way. I wouldn't want the Dean muse to kill me in my sleep for making him mushy:)

Thanks again for the comments.

I am so in love with the following things: Apoc fic, Winchesters, literature (and your use of it), this story.

This was great, basically. I really do love how you tied T.S Eliot into this story, and it worked brilliantly.

The irony isn’t lost on Sam - he finally achieves normalcy at the fucking end of the world

That was perfect, as was the last line. This whole thing was great. Excellent job!

Thank you very much. The minute I started pondering what to actually write, that line from the poem came into my head...fortunately, it worked out.

I greatly appreciate your comments and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
