The strike happened yesterday. There are some people not happy with the decisions lj made the last weeks and actually months, this time for particular getting rid of basic accounts. Also some were unhappy, because they got the impression lj didn't inform as good as they should. So people striked in from of not posting or commenting anything yesterday GMT to let lj see where they needs are.
That's a bit difficult as a whole and opinions are way different. I liked the strike idea, but imo lj didn't suck up as half as many things as people want to see. I'm fine with lj and how they act mostly.
While the principal behind the strike was good, I don't see how it's going to make much of a difference. The company's desire to turn a profit will most likely win out over consumer satisfaction every time anyway.
I agree. Although it might made a difference if people reckoned that not only a few users are upset. Dunno. I've no idea how many peeps really joined as well.
So is this decision final? Do we know when it is going into effect? People can just upgrade to a Plus account and have to deal with adds, which I do, can't they? It still doesn't seem like a nice thing to do.It doesn't seem like there are going to be that many Basic users anyway, so It's not as if lj is loosing a huge amount of money.
