"loosing" my mind

I have mild dyslexia, which luckily for me tends to show itself more in left/right, clockwise/counterclockwise, and an extreme aversion to basic arithmetic and memorization rather than writing and/or reading. In fact, my grammar is pretty good--it was good enough to put me in AP classes in high school and to completely test out of all basic ( Read more... )

any one who uses "loosing" when they mean "losing" is completely wrong.

hee! I'm seriously considering writing that on my friend's paper the next time they hand it to me with the word "loosing" in it.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one out there that just knows without knowing why lol =)

It's all over the place! I can't believe you wrote this entry, I have noticed it SO many times recently. Not only have I noticed the misuse/misspelling of lose/loose (it goes both ways in my observations), I have also heard it MISSPOKEN (is that right, now my own words are starting to look wrong!). There's a Pete Yorn song called "Lose You" and he always sings "LOOSE YOU"-I can't even stand to listen to it.

I am a little bit of a grammar nazi, so there's plenty of grammar errors like this that drive me insane. I've been beta-ing a couple fics for people, and I'm finding that it's not a great thing for me to take on. I get compulsive about the grammar, and end up looking up the actual rules and spending a ridiculous amount of time on a comma.

spending a ridiculous amount of time on a comma--lol I've been there. And just for the record, "misspoken" is correct, although it does look wrong to me, too. And, um, I know this because I'm a bit obsessive about the spelling and definitions of words--so I looked it up just to make sure, lol. ^_^

Ah! That song bugs the hell out of me! hee! I don't really understand how it doesn't bother everyone.
