(Vid) I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor

If you've seen the preview to the upcoming issue of Buffy Season 8, you'll know that Faith has a previously unsuspected fondness for British indie bands. First it was Amy Winehouse, and now we learn she's also a fan of The Clash, Arctic Monkeys and The Stone Roses.

Having read that, I immediately thought "There should be vids". Specifically, there ( Read more... )

Utterly brilliant - even though I'm not a huge fan of that song. Great editing, and the instrumental break was inspired... :-)

unless, of course, Faith got up first and left her alone.

Oh, come on. What are the odds of Faith doing THAT. (One could argue that Faith not being there the morning after almost proves that she was there the night before... hey, it's my logic, I like it.)

Thanks! (Especially if you didn't like the song itself)

Three's a problem with your Faith theory, though... she wasn't in my bed this morning either (or the beds of billions of other people) - which by this logic must surely imply that she was a very busy girl indeed last night?

Well, it's not that I hate the song or anything. It's just... I remember 1984, OK? People wore hot pink legwarmers and thought Duran Duran were rebellious. It's not something we should be wanting to go BACK to. ;-)

This was fabulous (and highly Fuffytastic of course). I really wouldn't know where to begin with putting together something like this

Just to encourage you to keep up the good work (as if you didn't have anything else to do), another suggestion for a vid that no one else seems to have done (at least it isn't on You Tube as far as I can tell) (now everyone has LCD monitors, shouldn't that be renamed "You Array" or something) despite being really obvious, is Buffy from Dawn's perspective to My Sister by Juliana Hatfield

Thanks! The most important thing I have to say on "where to begin" is "don't make your first ever vid ('Troy'/'When Did the Light Die' in my case) with a song that's about three times longer than a normal song...
:-)

Otherwise it's just a question of listening to the song several times, and thinking of scenes that would illustrate the themes of the words. Then filling in the details as you go.

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with Juliana Hatfield. Maybe you could have a go? :-)

Excellent! Hot and fun.

Particularly liked the expression on "naughtiness" and the epilogue, with the panting "hungry line". Thought the transitions where the figure kind of melts away into a white outline were very cool, but I couldn't identify the effect.

Thanks for making this!

Glad you liked it! I have to admit the epilogue still makes me smile when I watch it myself.

I use Ulead VideoStudio, and the transition is called "MaskB". I don't know if there's a more common name for it or anything...

Fantastic! I have not seen a single episode of BtVS or Angel with Faith in it, but this vid--plus bradcpu's "Living Dead Girl"--is turning me into a fan. You really did justice to the song, and the vid is a lot of fun, very telling even without the director's commentary. Keep up the good work!

I'll try. :-) Thanks!

Now I'm wondering what sort of impression of Faith you get if you've only ever seen her in fan vids...)
