Reading this really made me think of Scarlett O'Hara. Was it because she also thought money would bring her all she ever wanted? Was it because Ashley confused love and lust for her? Was it because, in the end, Scarlett realized she still had her land Tara and that "tomorrow is another day"? Maybe so. (or maybe I got it completely wrong)
If you ever find the time to read Gone With the Wind, I think it'd resonate well with you. However, I don't know if I would put in the time to read it now... it was ok in high school when I had all the free time in the world - funny I didn't think that then.
