flamer responds!

Jan 30, 2009 10:11

Just woke up to find this little gem sitting in my inbox. Continuing in this vein:

Technically it is not even a flame. It is a standard review that I give to any story containing "OC" in the summary. So no, I did not even bother to read your story.

Where the hell do you see OC in my summary?

Touch of fire, touch of ice. A wary convergence to a steadier rapprochement through the years.

Touch of ice = Claire Frost = Freeze Girl, who is NOT an OC despite only being seen all of maybe five seconds in the movie. Yes, I have several OCs in my fic because, let's face it, Will & co. aren't in Warren's year so... do you really want me to just write about him and that's it? Makes for some pretty stale fiction if you ask me. Not to mention that they're (Warren and Claire) not even friends at this point.

My response (I have a rather nasty habit of hooking on when someone throws fuel my way - ask my mum :S)

Technically, yes it is a flame:

"An Internet user typically generates a flame response to other posts or users posting on a site, and such a response is usually not constructive, does not clarify a discussion, and does not persuade others. Sometimes, flamers attempt to assert their authority, or establish a position of superiority over other users. Other times, a flamer is simply an individual who believes he or she carries the only valid opinion. This leads him or her to personally attack those who disagree. In some cases, flamers wish to upset and offend other members of the forum, in which case they can be called "trolls". Most often however, flames are angry or insulting messages transmitted by people who have strong feelings about a subject." (wikipedia)

This being said, you're a troll, it doesn't matter that you're not even reading these fics you're attacking, and seriously, it's juvenile (made even more so by the fact that it was generated by a flame-writing challenge and the fact that you didn't even read these fics before plastering your garbage all over the place). I honestly don't care that you didn't read my fic, that much was obvious from the first. I'm an adult and life isn't all about sunshine. What bothers me is that you seem to think it's all a game. What, so writing flames is, like, so cool? Grow up.

"any story containing "OC" in the summary"

Tell me where I have the letters OC written black on white in my summary, because I don't see it. Unless you didn't know or don't care, "touch of ice" = Claire Frost = Freeze Girl = canon.

In other words, get lost.

I really wanted to follow your advice, luvscharlie, and call her a bitch.

Warren is still not impressed.

As it is, though, I just blocked the idiot. Ha. My first block, too.
ETA: I also sent an email to ff.net's report abuse people. Mwah, I'm on to her.

In other news, I have to run off to the post office today. I think the streets are cleared well enough by now, but it took long enough now didn't it. Two days for the city peeps to get their act together *facepalm* Jesus, and they wonder why there were so many accidents.

fic: leaving marks, fandoms: sky high, stupidity
