Walking soap opera

Never a dull moment, is there? No time to update, either, but I'll try to squeeze a few words in! Met Kristie last Friday, had lots of fun, remind me later and I'll tell you all about the drunken mini golf game with Mutuku and Terri, and Kristie's hour-long "no really, I'm going home now" kisses. LOL ( Read more... )

Oh, for the love of god. For living arrangements, I mean. Just... cripes.

I'm really glad that your grandma is doing better, though! *hugs*

They can only give you three days for cause, and even then, if the cause is fixed, the three day limit doesn't hold (For example, they can give you a three day notice for back rent - but you can stay if you get them the rent within the time given). On the other hand, at least if you're in a non-rent-controlled area, they can give you a 30 day (But no less) for no reason whatsoever.

So that should be a 30 day notice. By the way, after the 30 days is up, they don't have the right to dump you out - they have the right to start court proceedings, then the police come and kick you out once that is all said and done.

I wouldn't recommend going that route - I believe it shows up on your credit report, and fucks up future rentals - it's a way to get an extra few days should you need them.

Thanks. It's getting pretty ugly. She was saying that it was because her dad was selling the house. Then she changed her story and was complaining about the house being trashed, which was ridiculous, since the mess was only in my room and the garage that I was paying rent for, and I had barely moved in this week, so I haven't had a chance to unpack and organize anything yet. Geesh.
Hopefully I'll have it all cleared up soon. :-/

What about the terms of the lease? If you're under a lease, then I would think they have to let the lease expire first, unless you are delinquent. Or are you renting month-to-month?
