I have a lot to journal about. But first I'm going to whine about my tweaks to my interface with the computer.

Maybe this is a technological get-off-my-lawn rant?

I've been spending more time helping Miriam or doing my own stuff at the computer lately, and the more I do that the more I want to tweak the computer to function the way I want it to.

I was a "professional" typist for a couple of years (until Covid arrived in New York), and the one thing I tried to make myself do was not to fix any typos as they happened - I'd wait until the end of the document or until a good stopping point, then go back and proofread. I had to proofread anyway, so it saved me time to fix the typos all at once. It was hard to wait sometimes, but I mostly made it work.

My sympathies on your keyboard and other computer issues. And I agree with you about trying to do complex anything on a freaking cell phone. Whyyyyyy?

I hadn't thought about waiting until the end to fix all the typos in one fell swoop. That's an interesting approach, and if I was doing more typing, I might try a small experiment to see what would be faster for me!

In the meantime, hopefully I can figure out these hardware/software issues...
