I'm a Real Dutch Resident Now

I parked at one of the two-level bike racks for the first time yesterday. I was at the local expat center for my appointment to get a BSN and be a legal Dutch resident.

It's really neat that you've been able to make this leap. It sounds very exciting, I hope you have a great time there. How long do you intend to stay?

Thanks! Exciting is a good word, in both positive and negative senses. All the change and the language barrier sometimes spikes my anxiety levels. In all though, I'm glad I'm here and I think it will keep getting better.

My partner, Danae, is here for a two year post-doc position at the University of Amsterdam. After that, assuming she doesn't get an offer of a faculty position (and I'm actually not sure she'd take it...), we'll likely move again.
