On a related note, a couple sources suggest that one early Rush luminary, Dr. Nicholas Senn, conducted experiments on himself. It is lucky that John Stapp did his research for the Air Force in earlier days. Certainly he would not be allowed to do such things now. (Google him if the name does not ring a bell.)

I'm sure in IRB training they use him as an example of what never to allow!

I forgot the name, but when I looked him up I remembered reading about that work. He was a brave and/or crazy man!
