So a real (paraphrased) conversation I had at work a couple weeks ago:

Male Co-worker P: Hey, we're going to be doing the captioning on Reaper!
Me: Awesome! Now all we have to do is convince them to give us Supernatural too!
MCP: Isn't that some chick show?
Me: Yeah, kinda. Me and the gay coworker are probably the only ones here who'd want to work ( Read more... )

That said, I LOLed a lot. What else can ya do?

I know. I am suddenly not nearly as ashamed of my Wincest preferences. >D

While I think there have been other times where it hasn't been-- see girls in the backseat of the Impala-- this time, I think it was all in good fun.

hmm, while your point is extremely pointy (!), i think the difference is that when most guys fantasize about twins, it's about the guy being able to pleasure two girls at the same time (and those girls... servicing? him at the same time), not necessarily about the twins making out/having sex with each other. :/

Well, I do think part of it is that, for women, a lot of what turns them on is in the imagination, whereas men tend to be more visual. I think female fanfic writers and readers are able to put themselves into the story mentally and emotionally even if they're not present physically.

Yes, I agree that the twins fantasy is probably mostly a threesome thing, but I don't think that means the guy doesn't want to see the girls getting it on with each other as part of that. I think it's more that the "oo, hot lesbians" thing (plus the presence of the third party) keeps them from thinking about the incest side of it. Which doesn't actually negate the incest, it just makes it easier to handwave.

Not unlike the way we handwave it with the boys being raised outside society, having no one else who could understand them, etc.
