Watson was certainly not averse to a beer, though it was hardly his regular sort of drink. He was a gentleman, besides; if this Winchester fellow offered him a beer, then he would most certainly take it. After pulling up to the bar stool over, he took a long sip, and then set it back down with a satisfied sigh.

"That does hit the spot," he remarked. "I've been here about... oh, about two weeks, I suppose. Not terribly long. I think my biggest problem has been simply finding things to fill my days with."

Dean was no stranger to boredom. Hanging around motel rooms trying to get some sleep when it was light outside was an occupational hazard. Once you've heard yourself utter the dreaded words 'Thank god for daytime TV' then you know you've hit rock bottom on the entertainment front. This place was going to have to go some to beat that.

"No harm in taking a vacation, man," he said. "Watch a little TV, have a few beers -- everyone deserves that now and again."

Dean sure as hell reckoned he did. And you know, without Sam to do the boring stuff this job might take a little longer than he was used. You couldn't skimp on the research, after all. Could be dangerous.

He signalled for another two beers.

"Nobody's getting hurt though, right? No strange deaths, no... visions or anything." A thought struck him. "You didn't make any wishes, did you?"

"No one's been hurt that I'm aware of. My god, if anyone has and I haven't done anything to help out of ignorance..." He shook his head, exhaling heavily. "Hm. Any wishes?"

Watson started on the second beer with rather more gusto than he thought was probably a good idea. Had he made any wishes? He had certainly wished for Holmes to be alive, but he'd been wishing that long enough.

"Nothing that I hadn't been wishing for a whole year," he said at last.

A year? Try a lifetime.

"If the wish you made is true here, then yeah, that might have done it." Dean tapped his fingers on the bar while he thought. "There are things that can do that, and you don't want to know how or why. But if you don't know this place or the people in it, then I don't see why would it put you here."

Nah, it just didn't feel the same as the djinn deal. It was much more likely to be a haunting. A pretty harmless one so far, it seemed, unless they were stuck here forever.

"What's the last thing you remember before you were here?" There might be a clue there. "Apart from it being 1892, obviously." Jesus. That was still freaky, even for Dean.
