Temperance had two thoughts when she woke up in the most luxurious bed she'd ever seen where am I? and why am I so hungover? And that's when the events of the previous day came back to her - driving back from the dig site in Peru, getting lost, finding the hotel, barely meeting anyone and getting sloshed at the bar with a stranger. Oh, good one Temperance she thought as she reluctantly peeled herself out of bed to get a drink of water. Luckily, she also found painkillers in the bathroom cabinet and downed three with a full glass of water before refilling it and heading back into the bedroom.
A quick glance out the window beyond the heavy drapes didn't give her any indication of what time of day it was. The dull light could have been dawn or dusk or something in between. Her stomach growled and she realized she couldn't remember the last time she had eaten. No wonder I got drunk so easily last night. she thought and she wondered how Spike had fared after he left her. For all of his oddities and outward appearances, he was at least a gentleman about making sure I got in safely. Booth would have been happy to know she had been in good hands anyway.
She pulled out the extra set of clothes that had been taken from her car and headed to the shower to start her day.
Once washed and dressed, she felt more like a human again and decided to try to find food. First, though, she pulled out her cell phone and laptop hoping that one would be able to connect and she could find her location on a map and how to get back to where she came from. Of course, neither of them could find a signal. Well, there better be a concierge in this place who can give good directions, because I've had just about enough of this unscheduled vacation.
Pocketing her key, she left her suite and headed down the hall to the elevators. She found that the hotel was still as quiet as it was upon her arrival and she wondered how it stayed open with so little business. She took the elevator back to the lobby and headed to the front desk to find the old man who gave her the room initially.
"Hello?" she tried when she found the entire lobby empty. "Hello?! Can someone help me please?!" She waited and no one appeared. Spike's first words in the bar came back to her and she decided to try a new tactic. "What do I have to do to get some bloody service in this place!?!" she yelled.
