[Maka just so happened to be on the same hallway as Demyx, unfortunately paying more attention to her book than where she was going. She's been so busy with her job, making sure her homework was completed, and with her current boy drama - she barely had time to enjoy reading her favorite novel!]

"The magician held it toward the light, frowning a little ... but inside his heart, a little man was jumping excitedly up and down, turning cartwheels, and doing somersaults. The obsidian was much like his own, but one side was broken and jagged. Ah, the gods were smiling on him. Indeed, indeed, indeed they were."

[And as she continues to read out loud to herself, she BUMPS into Demyx and falls on her tushie.]

*Demyx stumbles back at the bump and opens his mouth to snap at whoever had the nerve to bump into him before he looks down to see the young woman on her bottom. Oh dear, that wasn't good! The Nobody bites his lower lip and offers a hand down to her, smiling apologetically.*

Are you okay? Looks like you took a bad fall.

*He couldn't help but chuckle at the sight. COME ON someone reading to themselves as their walking around aimlessly? It was kinda funny.*

[Maka rubs her head with one hand and grabs Demyx's with the other.]

Ah, yes I'm fine. Sorry about that.

[She stands up and dusts off her skirt before finally glancing up at him.]

...Are you new here? I don't remember seeing you around.

No no no! It's fine really. It's understandable. sitarnonine February 18 2010, 02:36:26 UTC
*Demyx nods as he puts his hands on his hips almost confidently*

I sure am! Came here about... *he counts on his fingers, mumbling to himself before he nods again* Almost two weeks ago, I came here!

/late always late LET'S PISS OFF SOME DRAGONS? gunpowderreason February 18 2010, 21:20:35 UTC
Of all the things she has seen while aboard this ship, dragons were definitely one of the strangest. Hawkeye stood rigidly at the window in the hall outside her room, locking in what appeared to be a fierce staring competition with the slithery thing on the other side. She glowered; it glowered back, flexing its wings in agitation.

The overall effect was somewhat spoiled by the puppy in her arms, who at that moment cocked his head to the side curiously and yipped.

Demyx heard the sound of a dog yip and turned towards the sound. The lady which held the dog looked pretty intense. It reminded him how a lot of his organization members looked like when facing down a heartless. Such determination! He jogged up to her to stand beside her, following her gaze to see what she was looking at.

Demyx's eyes widened at the sight of a dragon. A real live dragon! Demyx never got to see any dragons, but he knew Xigbar went to the Land of Dragons and well, of course you'd see a dragon or two there. Demyx was just never sent there per say. A smile twitched into view on his face as he looked at it. He was too scared to go towards it but he smiled none the less as he looked back at the blond lady and her dog.

"Are you having a staring contest with it?"

She remained still, but her gaze slid sharply left to focus on the newcomer. He looked to be young, with a shock of bright hair;Hayate's tail whapped against her in greeting. Hawkeye snapped her attention back to the dragon who was snorting indignantly against the glass.

"I've met with one dragon already," she replied, rather flatly. "It blew candy at me. This one looks ready to do the same, and I'm hoping to convince it to rethink its actions."

"Candy? That sounds more like fun to me." He paused however before he looked back at the dragon, feeling himself shrink back instinctively. "It wasn't like the candy was poisoned or something right?"

Demyx bit his lower lip before he looked back at the woman and her dog. She wasn't showing a flicker of fear. And he was the one who had no heart. He couldn't help but feel curious, as to how she could just stare into danger like that and never falter. And that dog of her's stayed so happy in the face of danger, rearing it's ugly head behind glass.

It would be an understatement to say Echo was making her usual rounds of observations for merely curiosity's sake. She needed entries for her new diary, considering her old one was misplaced sometime before she arrived. This place was so different from home. The people, the sights, everything really. Technology was so far advanced, but Echo had somewhat of a grasp on how things basically worked.

But really, was sitting and staring at a dragon helping much with her understanding of this place? And was it really necessary to make a record every time it did anything?

Demyx caught sight of the young woman before he blinked, surprised to see her sitting there in front of a dragon of all things. He was even more confused as to why she was writing down every little thing that it was doing. At least that's what he thought since she did scribble down something after the dragon moved.

He hesitantly approached her, leaning over her to stare down at her paper, giving worried glanced up back at the dragon. Sure the dragon was cool and all, but it was still a creature that could lunge out and eat you. Demyx was excited to see one... just probably from a few yards away at the least. Or even farther would be best.

He cleared his throat quietly as he stared down at her. "U-Um... what are you doing?"

Dangerous? Most likely, but it didn't seem the creature would make a move to harm Echo. The dragon was disinterested the moment it realized it wouldn't get a stir out of the girl. And if it did try to attack, well, then there might be a problem.

"Recording." Echo's gray eyes didn't stray from her paced pen. The man wasn't very good at the art of subtly. He probably wasn't trying at all.

"Echo has never seen a dragon outside of books."

"Echo?" He repeated it, confused before he smiled. "Oh! Is that your name? That's a cool name." He said as he sat down beside her, laying his legs out and letting his feet lax to the sides. His gaze followed back up at the dragon, smiling as he watched it from afar. It wasn't too bad. It looked bored anyways, and it didn't seem to want to hurt them anyways.

Demyx leaned over to see what she was writing. "Recording huh? That's a good idea. I do that too sometimes." he said as he absentmindedly patted his own cloak, feeling his notebook in his inside pocket. "It's always easier to remember stuff that way!"
