[If you asked Gin how he'd ended up inviting Renji back to his place, he really wouldn't be able to tell you. Probably a combination of that drink he'd had on his break, workplace exhaustion and some other contrived conveniences for hanging out. Who knew?

[Taking a seat next to Renji on the couch, neatly reserved to his own square unlike the other, Gin too takes a mouthful of beer and makes a face. Beer isn't his preferred drink but he keeps it around in case Cas is having a bad day. Beer, after all, is cheaper than wine.]

I thought I was being considerate considering what happened the last time you came over.

[he's very close to throwing out some variant of the phrase "man up" in regards to that little grimaced expression, but is pulled up short by Gin's words, unwillingly reminded of what last time entailed and forced to physically restrain himself from the ghost urge to get up and run far, far away]

[sits there for a good five seconds, hunting for the best way to react... oh there we go. his face settled somewhere between bemusement and irritation, Renji takes a quick swig before replying.]
