Sleeping in her car was a necessary evil considering her roommate was the personification of irritation itself. Besides, she kept enough necessities in her car trunk to be comfortable. This impromptu visit to the condo she grudgingly shared with Izaya was more than inconvenient. Why exactly had she decided to hide those warp core schematic in her piano? Had that idiot found them? Was he still in their residence?

Only one way to find out.

Feet padding lightly, she whispered for the door to open (smart things, these sentient doors; had to give this one a good oiling as reward for opening so quietly) and stepped into the living room, making a beeline for the piano gathering dust in the corner.

Not quite quietly enough, however. He heard her, highly sensitive as he was to such changes in the atmosphere around him, attuned to hearing the softest of sounds; it was essential for him to be ever alert after all, given the nature of his chosen profession. That, and there was a certain protozoan oaf he's needed to be ever watchful for back in his own world, though that creature had never quite mastered the art of stealth.

Curious, he moved quietly in the direction of the living room himself; it could only be her, unless they'd acquired a new roommate over night, and whilst he had other things to be getting on with he supposed he had time to discover just what she was doing here so early in the day.

"Good morning, Dorothy-kun~ It's not like you to be around at this time of..."

But his words, along with his approach towards her, were abruptly cut off, some unseen force shoving him so fiercely that he was sent crashing back into the opposite wall, teeth gritted against the unexpected, bone-rattling force as he hit it. What the ( ... )

But his glance would meet nothing but empty air. On the wall directly facing the one Izaya found himself pinned to, Dorothy found herself in the same situation.

"What did you do?" she scowled, trying to move the hands now pinned to her sides. It felt as if a heavy weight was shoving her against the wall, rendering her stationary. And the origin of the force seemed to be...him.

His gaze swiftly altered it's trajectory on hearing her voice, finding her to seemingly be in exactly the same situation as him. Confusion continued to sweep through him, a state of being that he was neither accustomed to nor fond of. Her expression seemed genuine, and it would make little sense at all for her to have executed a maneuver that would have left her in the same position he now found himself to occupy...

"...I didn't do anything," for once his words rang true, untouched by the insidious undertones that spoke of masked intentions. He was clearly as at a loss as she was, and had yet to regain himself sufficiently to present a coolly indifferent front.

Any attempts to dislodge herself from the wall proved futile. No, the pressure pushing down on her was heavy, an invisible force pinning her down.

"One of your plans backfired?"
