Polly's own fingers absently brush against the little box she herself had brought with her, unaware that she might be taking it back. She was actually rather nervous as to whether he would like it...

A few moments later, the shuttle landed and Polly hurried to where they'd agreed to rendezvous. She couldn't help but look around, as she ran, not having been down to the planet before now. The blue-violet sky alone was so lovely she almost tripped, staring at it.

And so it was that she was a little out of breath, when she finally arrived at the crystalline pavilion in the middle of the capitol's park, where Kiriko waited.

Hands leaving his pockets, Kiriko rose to meet her, a genuine smile spreading on his face. There was no need for her to run, and seeing her somewhat out of breath made the Doctor blush affectionately - whenever she was around, he felt strikingly younger, as though he really could be the other half of a young, adventurous couple.

"..Good afternoon, Polly. I'm glad you could make it." He closed the distance between them and reached for her hand as he greeted her with a small kiss.

Polly grinned and blushed, herself, arms encircling him as she returned the kiss. When it ended, she continued to lean against him, letting her head rest on his shoulder affectionately.

"The line onto the shuttle was so long! I guess a lot of people like this planet!"

She looked around again, one of the auroras that frequently lit the sky gleaming through the little crystal building that surrounded them.

"I can't blame them, though! It's beautiful here. This was a wonderful idea!"

He draws his arm around her shoulders as she leans against him, finding himself wondering if she might be cold... the planet was a little chillier than the others...

"You didn't need to rush! I would have waited," he laughed, raising his eye to watch the aurora. The nostalgia that struck him was nearly palpable. "..It's my favourite planet so far. I wanted to share it with you."

Suddenly releasing her, Kiriko backed away to his sitting place and reclaimed his seat, folding his hands on his lap professionally. After a moment of watching her beneath the aurora he sighed happily and gestured for her to sit beside him.

"I have something for you," he began slowly, impatient to give her her present. He wasn't terribly experienced in shopping for a woman, and the nagging worry that she'd hate it would surely tarnish the rest of his day if he didn't get it over with now.
