[Amusing, yes, but it's not the kind of situational joke one stumbles upon by accident.
How could it be, with the two of them being the way they are? Rather, it's something man-made, something that has been tempered with and changed; Shiro knows that he has a name, that it's customary to share it, but he'll not do so unless forced into playing along {he doesn't think it important actually}.

Still, to erase his name from the list, even if possible, sounds like entirely too much work.

Which is why Irene will meet an unusually bad-tempered door instead of an actual challenge, and get the chance to listen to it mutter low-key insults until a solid thunk from the other side makes it shut up, then slide open.

Beyond that the common room is nothing special, all tiny and grey, the only spot of colour being Shiro himself. He's fully clothed for once and--

--looks slightly annoyed, still. If the door does not watch out he'll throw his other shoe it seems..!]

[She'd spent considerable time ...reasoning with her door to ensure its silence.

So when the door's insults are silenced with a thump, she raises an eyebrow. And when she sees the young man missing a shoe the other eyebrow follows.

Gracefully she enters, twitching her skirt in just ahead of the door's abrupt closing. Turning it into a curtsey she smiles at him.]

A pleasure to meet you in person, Yoshiwara Shiro. I am Irene Adler. [And with a wry glance back to the door,] Thank you for the rescue.

[Electronics, Shiro is sure that they cannot be reasoned with. In fact, he is pretty much certain that the only way for this door to behave is to have it torn to itty-bitty pieces and forget about it.

What do you mean, he's holding a grudge? He'd never do such a thing!

What he does do is to slip out of the one remaining shoe, whitewhite feet peeking out of his kimono for a short moment, the bones showing against all this paperskin.

Unabashed, he inclines his head. It's not something humbled and deep, nothing elaborate {unlike his clothes, his strength, Irene herself}, but the smile curving his mouth, even if only hinted at, is telling.]

Aah. Introductions are said to be important. [Not asking how she knows, only making a note of it.] Nothing you couldn't have handled yourself, I'm sure.Have little patience for it after a year.

[He half-turns without actually taking a step.] The tea should be ready.

[[By 'reasoning', that is to say Irene had to forfeit a little money in damages when she moved... There was substantial trial and error involved, it being a completely new technology to her and all.
So Shiro's idea of how to deal with his door is not that far off, really.]]

[She in turn notes his calm acceptance. Grinning a little at his compliment she nods gratefully.]

Thank you, I look forward to it. What flavour is it?

[It's a familiar sight then, isn't it? If not for Shiro as a person, or the room itself, stepping in the middle {the end} of this kind of argument has to feel like something long-worn.

He'll have to see about paying for damages, if he ever makes up his mind to move, that is.]

Magnolia and chrysanthemum. [Shiro's smile broadens and the way he moves is almost-- airy, as though he weighs even less than he appears to.] Thought it might be a bit late for the former, as it has a creamy, decadent feel to it. [A look over his shoulder as he moves a few steps into his room.] The other is lighter, but both are pleasing to the senses.

[Waiting for her to at least reach his door before going further. Well, lady..?]
