Yoruichi had been busy, if quiet since her arrival. As she'd told Ukitake, she'd been exploring the ship in order to familiarize herself with both its layout and its inhabitants. But some of these aliens put even the most grotesque of Hollows to shame, and she was still taken aback at the sight more often than not. She'd also been monitoring the communications made over the Guide, making note of people and concepts of particular interest ( ... )

Yoruichi grinned up at him, giving his arm an affectionate pat as she entered. "Hey, you," she said. "I seem to have an instinct for these things." Mention free tea, milk or snacks, and Yoruichi would show up without fail. Her appetite was legend, and completely out of proportion to her small size.

She looked around with mild curiosity; this room was bigger than the one she was staying in, but he had been here longer. Her lodgings were free, so she was hardly going to complain.

"You look well," she said. "I guess you've more or less gotten accustomed to this place." It wouldn't surprise her--Ukitake was mature and friendly enough to get along well just about anywhere.

"In all honesty I don't think anyone could grow entirely used to what it's like here, but I've tried, yes." His smile turned a bit sheepish at that, as the door closed behind her. Noting her mildly curious survey of the room, he added: "After a certain period of time, if you have enough money, you're able to move up several floors, if you want. I hear the rooms get larger and more comfortable each time. Took me a little while to get used to the space in here, actually ( ... )
