[First Duo's terrible, creative, report, and now this?]

My job.

...are you in charge of the coffee? [Changing the topic.]

Not exactly.

But Lady Une is very particular about hers, and it seems I have yet to get it right.

Then may I? I'm in the middle of proofreading, and I need a stimulant.

[Takes a step back, gesturing to the machine]

Be my guest.

[He steps forward, putting a few scoops of coffee into the filter and filling the container with water. There is a sort of precision with the way he does it. Each scoop is leveled off, allowing no excess to ruin the pot. The water is lukewarm instead of cold or hot.

And then, he waits.]

[She watches with more intensity than should be necessary for making a simple pot of coffee.]

...shouldn't the water be boiling before you brew?

[It's not that she is unfamiliar with technology...but so many years of having to boil water over a measly campfire, and habits develop]

I wonder if that's why it hasn't been coming out as well as it should.

It may be that the water needs to heat up to an acceptable temperature the machine can use to make the coffee well. Either that, or you're just not doing it right.

[Puffs her cheeks out slightly at the "not doing it right" part. Because 10-year-old pride.]

Temperature aside, I followed the directions to the letter.

[He looks to her with a raised eyebrow.]

If you followed all directions to the letter, you wouldn't be here. [Or shouldn't.]

And yet, I am.

[She's not going to outright blame the coffee...but something must be off if Lady still refuses to accept it.]

[Lady refuses to accept it because you don't know how to make coffee like an OZ soldier. Just watch and learn from Zechs. B|]
