And just as silently as she'd resolved to do everything, she slipped into his room through the vent. It's hours after she arrived, having taken the time to settle in and rethink her priorities. Now that everything was squared away, she had a visit to make to her friend.

There was only a slight scraping noise as she reassembled herself inside his room, just in front of the air vent.

"Sho."

Because he was used to living on the edge, the first that greeted her was the muzzle of a gun, held at around chest height. But once he saw her and heard her voice, he dropped the gun, sliding the safety into place with a practice flick of his thumb.

"Guistina," he responded, using the gun as a bookmark. His lower lip had a healing cut on it and he held himself slightly stiffer than normal.

She only flinched a bit, fingers curling around the Stand at her hip. Her eyes were still red, puffy, and her skin was a little paler than he ought to remember.

Her voice, too, was worn thin. The scrapes and bruises she could see registered, but hardly concerned her. Truthfully, her motive for visiting was entirely selfish.

"Should I come back later?"

"You just startled me," he replied, shifting in his seat. He reached over to turn the light up a little and put the book aside. "I didn't expect anyone to come through the vents except to kill me."

His tone was casual, a simple brush off over something that other people might find it be worth more than a mere shrug. Sho looked at her, studying her carefully and then stood up, walking over to her and looking down.

"I take it your trip home was less than pleasant."
