Who: EVERYBODY!!! What: Kakashi's surprise birthday When: The 15th of September Where: The Hatake House Warnings: idk Pip is bringing drinks and Jiraiya is coming.
This was the most interesting random invitation that Matt'd ever gotten. Not that he was too sure who the heck the invitation was from- but that's what training and weapons are for. For finding out just who the invitation was from!
He moved to the door, looking at the invitation and then looked at the door again before knocking.
There was silence following the knock for a few seconds, a pointed one, before the door opened just a sliver. After it opened just enough for the man on the other side to see who the person knocking was, a gloved hand shot out from between the crack to pull Matt in, tugging him into the shadows with a light hiss.
"The fuck do you think you're doing? You're going to give the whole damn thing away!"
Normally Matt wouldn't be tolerating being drug into the darkness by random guy number 13 to him. But the invitation only said party. He smooths out his outfit where he was yanked in and blinks at the darkness, like it'll do any good but in the same little while he's more than sure he's in the right place. Or the wrong one.
"Sorry Man, didn't realize.. least I'm not late, I guess."
Pip raised a brow at the newcomer for a moment before looking down at his Guide (the functions turned off save for the time)-- Matt wasn't late, no, but he wasn't terribly early, either. Kakashi should be coming soon enough.
"Either way, this is a surprise party. So sit down and shut up for a few, alright?"
So everything is set up, after lots of negotiations, and they've sent the message to Kakashi's dad (and it's Kakashi's dad, she still can't get over it!) and now all they have to do is jump out at the right time.
Jump out at the right time to surprise the crazy haxninja.
"...Anybody else thinkin' this might not've been the best plan?"
Look at least Pip is crouching in a semi-competent way. Kaylee's got nothing but the element of surprise to stop her from being noticed behind this couch.
"Didn't really think on it before..."
After a second of thinking on it, she tries to wiggle down a little further.
Pip is now starting to regret the fact that he didn't bring anything to defend himself with (who brings tasers and stuff to a party, okay?), but he doesn't bolt, since... well, then he could give the whole game up, and that would be a shitty thing to do. He's brought about 8 cartons of booze, and he's sure as hell not going to just leave them lying in Kakashi's apartment without having had any.
"So. We're trying to surprise a ninja."
He scoots to the side a little to give Kaylee more room to hide.
"...He's not going to turn me into a frog or something, right?"
Okay so, yeah. She doesn't actually know Kakashi or anything, but she did volunteer to be around to help out. So she is hanging around, obsessively straightening out the food because parties must be perfect when she's not drunk.
Her obsessive food-arranging probably isn't helped by the fact that Kaylee has been very vague when telling people where to put the food, so it could conceivably be on any flat surface in the entire room.
Or a few not-so-flat surfaces, probably, considering how many ninjas were here.
She heads to the kitchen, and after a quick sweep throughout it, locates the cake on top of the fridge. Why it was up there, she would never know, but Rachel's definitely not tall enough to reach it without standing on something.

"They're coming!"
She says it just loud enough to let the whole room know, so hopefully everyone can stop whispering and start bracing themselves for what happens when a ninja finds a bunch of random people in his apartment why did they think this was a good idea.
oh god i can tag my own birthday postplznospoilersSeptember 19 2011, 16:11:52 UTC
Kakashi doesn't really think to check if people are in his house - especially since he takes care of his own personal security system, but he thinks he hears a faint noise coming from their house. It's probably nothing; it might even be the neighborhood kids cutting through their yard.
But if there's something wrong with his security system, then he should - no, he needs to learn to trust his community.
As he gets closer, something really seems wrong. He can't quite put his finger on it (which is the worst part), but he thinks it could be a lot of things; maybe one of the dogs is sick. He hasn't felt this 'off' since he moved to the ship and had to get used to the buzz of machinery and the simulation of atmosphere.
"Hmm? Feel what? It's hard to discern things around here."
He'd anticipated this - there was no way Kakashi would go without noticing anything, his son's a ninja after all. For his part, Sakumo doesnt react, expression all kiltered nonchalance and a little vague concern as he carries on walking (nearlytherenearlytherenearlythere!!!!).
[Kabuto slips in, only planning on being there long enough to leave a a small package for Kakashi. Its not much, but its the best he can do to start making amends.]

She comes back. "Found it."

A quick text is sent through before they get too close that Sakumo can't do it subtly.
We're here.
