... Well, his words more or less sent Naoto blank screening mentally. She had prepared to tell him that she wasn't right for him; he needed someone that wasn't so blind to emotion, but he had basically said what Polly thought he might. Except for the dungeon part. S-She had really made him think he was gay? Naoto didn't mean for that to happen... and he was still much more interesting than most guy

Naoto looked up at him, her face flaring red. She nodded quickly before dropping her eyes in embarrassment. It explained why she got so worked up when it came to Blair which, in hind sight, it shouldn't have been so bad.

"... It shouldn't have taken the world's destruction, b-but after the party, I couldn't stop thinking about it. I almost didn't come here because I was... unsure how to approach the subject." Though, she did almost interrogate him.

While waiting for this time to come, she had examined the whole year and just wondered how she failed to notice. She wasn't doing this out of pity either; she had genuinely... been fixated over it.

"Well I'm glad you did show up."

Kanji still looked stunned but there was no mistaking that smile. He had never anticipated that she would return his feelings, not when there were so many other, better guys out there, but apparently it didn't matter. Apparently he, as he stood with all his faults and inconsistencies, was good enough for her.

With words failing he simply hugged her again, a little more tightly this time. He would do right by her. Whatever it took, he wasn't going to squander this chance. Everyone else would just have to live with it, no matter what they thought.

So this was... okay? Naoto really wasn't the individual she lead people on to believe, but Kanji was fine with that. He was a guy just fine with how she dressed and acted despite the fact she's supposed to be a girl. Perhaps he would help her and she could, in turn, help him become more comfortable with their true selves.

She hugged him back, barely reaching his back. If anyone became uncomfortable with them being together, they would just have to deal with it.
