Lucifer wasn't one for questioning his actions or examining his motives. Why should he? After all this time, he understood himself extremely well. Barring some more pressing matters or an overarching goal, he did what he wanted, when he wanted to. He had long since ceased to see any reason to do anything else ( ... )

Entering the restaurant and taking in that quiet, snooty atmosphere, Gin would have cringed if he wasn't aware of several disapproving glances being shot his way. And why not? He reeked of the refugee brand, something the people here were obviously not very appreciative of. If he'd had his way, he never would have stepped foot in this sector again but... well... he didn't know how to say no to Lucifer yet.

And speaking of Lucifer, Gin gave the tables in view a quick glance over and couldn't spot him, though that didn't worry him unduly. Knowing the guy, he'd be "fashionably late." Resisting the urge to snort at that thought, he instead glanced at the host who was persistently "Ahem"ing at him and asked if there was a reservation under his boss's name. He wasn't concerned that Gin might decide not to wait for him - he'd accepted the invitation; naturally he would be there. Lucifer was, or so he'd often been assured, worth waiting for, and beings of all sorts usually did so with little complaint ( ... )

Playing with one of the various eating utensils that had been set at the table (a long rod hooked like a question mark,) Gin had idly been considering pulling out his phone for a quick round of solitaire when he noticed several other customers glance briefly at the door. On reaction, he followed their gazes to the door.

Of course. The thought was made in amusement and exasperation as Lucifer strode across the room like he owned the damn place with all eyes on him. (And for all he knew? Maybe the bastard did.) Once again resisting the urge to snort, Gin turned back to the table and set the utensil down. No point in heaping more attention on the man when he was already swimming in it. Those who were staring didn't have to deal with him for the next couple of hours straight after all.

And, as if to show Gin just how right he was on that sentiment, that look. Though he remained relaxed and with the appearance of someone who didn't care, a small part of his mind wondered just how Lucifer had judged him. A small part he squished ( ... )
