Holmes' new living situation with Sherlock and John was nice enough-- of course, he had moved most of his calamitous things in with him, much to the good doctor's probable dismay, but they'd all been busy with one thing or another and hadn't had much time to sit down and talk (Holmes at his job, his roommates with theirs, alternating between lounging around in boredom or doing something to alleviate said boredom). Not that Holmes was much of a casual conversationalist on a usual day, but that wasn't important.

Room 7-11, a replacement for 221B, was different from 221B in that Holmes didn't get strange visitors soliciting him at odd hours of the day, seeking his counsel. But that hadn't happened in ages anyway, since he'd gotten himself stuck on this spaceship: something he'd had to adjust to, much to his disdain.

So, when Holmes heard the knock on the door, he didn't say "get the door, Mrs. Hudson!" as he might have when he was just a new arrival on the Thor. Instead, he first contemplated ignoring it (not a case, not his problem), ( ... )

"G-good evening, Holmes," Canada said, smiling brightly at his former roommate. Ah, he looked the same as ever, right down to the faint cloud of smoke and clutter of objects in the background.

"I, um, I hope I haven't disturbed you..."

"Canada." It's been a bit since he's seen his old roommate, one that he had admittedly enjoyed living with-- an agreeable 'country', one that tolerated his many... quirks.

Waving away the smoke with one hand (technically, he's supposed to take his smoking out in the hall, not that he ever really does), he cocks his head to the side slightly and fixes his gaze on his companion.

"Here after a party or an outing of some sorts?"

Let's not ask Holmes how he knows that. Or, let's, since that's what he does.

(Canada is an easy one to have fall into that.)

Looking at him in surprise, he became a little nervous.

"W-well, y-yes, but, how did you know?"

"The state of your dress, the crumbs on your lapel, the faint aroma of something that suspiciously smells like a pastry, among other things."

Holmes won't get into details. He'll spare Canada the lecture.
