Jasmine had been perfectly content with not doing anything at all for her birthday (she didn't want to make it a big deal, after all), so when Canada contacted her about his plans to take her out that evening... well. She was already pleasantly surprised and absolutely elated.

Seeing what he had set up, though, almost brought tears to her eyes. He set this up for her? She could hardly believe it. It was breathtakingly beautiful... and he chose it with her in mind.

Blushing brightly, she squeezed his hand and smiled up at him. Yeah, she liked it.

Greatly reassured by her smile, he motioned for her to take a seat. Kneeling by the basket, he took out the food that he'd brought, all pretty simple. Sliced fruit - lots of oranges - a bit of cheese, and the small cake.

"I- I hope this is all right... and the cake is chocolate orange. Chiyo helped me make it- ah, and she says 'happy birthday', too."

She sat down on the blanket, taking extra care to knock the candles or the vase over. That wouldn't be good at all!

As he took out the food, she couldn't help but stare. He even picked out her favorites... and got outside help, too. "I-it's great! Th-thank you so much... I-I'm flattered." Nervously, Jasmine tucked a bit of her hair behind her ear and reached for an orange slice.

He was a bit self-conscious at her stare, but was immensely relieved when she seemed to like everything.

"You're welcome. I'm- really happy I could do something for you..."

Blushing, he popped a cube of cheese in his mouth. He didn't want to overwhelm her, and she already seemed a little nervous by how much he'd done...
Should he give her the necklace later? Ahhh... Maybe way later? No, that'd defeat the whole point.
