If Maraich were to be honest, he could use a drink. Normal stresses piled on top of the other problems that had been coming up and he needed a break. He didn't plan on staying completely sober as he suggested before - although he didn't plan on getting drunk, either.
So he had already ordered a drink. A glass of red wine. He had hardly started it when Ashura arrived.
He glanced back when he heard his name, and waved him over. He was at a small table - not the type to sit right at the bar. He didn't expect a deep conversation; they were both here to get their minds off of things.
"I see you made it."

He nodded, sitting down with the elegance and grace of a king who has had such things pounded into them from the time they were old enough to remember them properly. He motioned to the waiter and ordered a nice red, like Maraich and told him to leave the bottle for them.

"I made a promise and, honestly, your company is... needed, right now," he said, taking the glass from the waiter and sipping.

Maraich nodded. He could understand immediately what Ashura was talking about, no explanation needed.

He gave a heavy sigh, putting two fingers to his temple, "It's been a rough week."
It seemed he was spending more time looking at the wine and idling swirling it than drinking it.

"That it has," he murmured, tapping the top of his glass with his finger before picking it up and sipping, gulping a bit as it hit his throat and then his stomach.

"It... it hurts, to have her gone," he admitted quietly, his throat tight.
