I want you to make an actual joke out of that subject line now. |D caprice_of_song March 20 2011, 23:18:57 UTC
The thought-gathering process was slightly short-lived, however, as Ion seemed to have arrived quickly on such short notice. He, too, was somewhat eager to have someone to talk to at length--someone who would probably understand his current thoughts.

They exchanged their formalities, the 'hellos' and 'it's nice to see you's, but Jade looked decidedly more somber than the boy was expecting, and he wasn't sure what to make of it.

"We should probably make a point of speaking more often," Ion admitted after they'd settled themselves in Jade's kitchen. "Especially in light of what's going on, I'm sorry I haven't done a better job of keeping in touch with you."

"The fault is equally mine," Jade admitted, leaning against the kitchen counter somewhat casually. He tried his best to keep an otherwise refined stance out of respect for Ion, after all, he was still Fon Master. Even in a situation where titles meant little, he couldn't allow himself to lose that respect, especially for Ion, who earned it from Jade years prior to Auldrant's destruction.

"Unfortunately, I'm afraid I can't offer unbridled optimism," he began, obviously referencing a particular red-head, "But, I can say that I am confident in our remaining numbers to pull through."

fffffff (And notifs--or maybe my PC--suck. Again.) caprice_of_song March 25 2011, 02:59:24 UTC
"That makes two of us, then," Ion replied, managing a partial smile. "Things are certainly much quieter with neither Luke nor Anise, though, so I suppose it will probably take some getting used to."

He paused. A subject change was probably in order; dealing with Anise's absence wasn't especially easy right now, given their lack of understanding on how and why people left the ship and what happened to them once they did.

"I'm still been trying to befriend Sync, by the way," he said after a moment. He knew he wouldn't have to elaborate on how well that was going, giving Sync's shining reputation. "There doesn't seem to be any point to our fighting anymore, though he doesn't seem to see it like that."

Although he was grateful for the subject change, Jade couldn't help but quirk an eyebrow at that news. His lips twitched into the ghost of a wry smile. As ridiculous as Ion's ventures were, Jade couldn't help but feel comforted at the fact that not everything seemed to change.

Including the fact that Sync was still a very dangerous God General, and therefore, a serious threat.

"As long as he doesn't try and hurt you." Jade cautioned, "If that's the case, then Guy and I may have to get involved."

THERE UGH /tracks the thread caprice_of_song March 29 2011, 04:44:54 UTC
"I don't think you need to worry," the boy assured. "At this point, he's more interested in arguing than anything else."

--Which was sort of a good sign in Ion's mind, since arguing didn't necessarily have to be a completely bad thing. It hopefully meant Sync didn't have enough malicious energy to do anything else. The other replica seemed to have moved away from angry frustration and more towards... well, agitation.

"Besides, I doubt I could convince him to meet me in person at this point, even if I really wanted to."

;w; OKAY, AWESOME abyssjade March 31 2011, 14:44:50 UTC
"So he's still being his same, old charming self?"

Read: bratty, annoying attention whore.

The smile widened just a bit, amusement thrown into the mix. For now, he could see that Ion and Sync's interactions were relatively harmless. Who knows, it may provide Ion with a distraction from the group's less-than-stellar circumstances.

There was also the tactical advantage-- keeping tabs on the enemy in a somewhat convert manner, after all.

And it works so far! \o/ caprice_of_song March 31 2011, 19:54:39 UTC
"That's one way of putting it. So far, he seems to have at least accepted the fact that I'm not giving up, though he's not very pleased about it."

Somehow the idea of Sync giving in even now would make things seem too easy. Ion decided he would much rather work to put the two of them on good terms than have Sync give in simply out of lack of interest in defending his perspective.

"It's probably naive, but I'm hoping something will turn out eventually. ...What about you, though, Jade? How have things been, apart from the recent problem?"
