THE QUIET be_my_servant March 13 2011, 09:08:51 UTC
[The lower levels of Sigrun's refugee quarters is absolutely still and silent; the quiet is almost deafening, in a way. The lighting flickers out rarely and briefly, but hints at the disarray of the ship. Very occassional, something bumps in the vents before scittering away deepering into the vessel.]

[The poorest floors of the refugee quarters houses little to nothing of interesting. The deathly, barren quiet beings to play tricks on the mind, in the form of slight, unintelligable whisperings. However...]

[Do you ever get the feeling you're being watched?]

[[OOC: The arrival of the team to their destination, and getting started. Starts out quiet and empt, but slowly these will begin to flicker in the team's peripherals, never stepping into full vision, moving like shadows. Very quiet, almost inaudible whispers will slowly start to be heard, increasing in frequency, that the babblefish can't translate. Occasionally, 'leave' or 'stay away' slips through, and very rarely, a 'stay' or 'help us'. They'll begin increasing in numbers ( ... )

Remilia touched down lightly, wings folding behind her as she observed the surrounding area. It was almost exactly as it had been described: empty, silent, and as frozen as a picture. The ship's systems also seemed to be functioning well here, furthering the Captains' declaration of it being the safest place on Sigrun. It looked... positively boring.

Still, that's why they were here, wasn't it? The Captains thought it odd how most of Sigrun's inhabitants shied away from the area. They were here to see for themselves if it was truly 'safeguarded' by something, and if it was as safe as everyone presumed. And perhaps grab some stuff on the way out, too.

...It was still boring.

Remilia glanced back at her 'team'. Sakuya's presence was a given; she wasn't surprised that Youmu and Karen had wound up tagging along with her. The Yama, however... How in the world had the Yama ended up with her ( ... )

Boring as it was, still as it was, Sakuya wasn't letting don her guard. On high-alert, she kept her hands at the ready to draw her weapons should something occur, hovering always not far from her mistress.

"As the only non-combatant, someone should probably stay close to Karen-san at all times," Sakuya suggested. "It's quiet now, but I'm sure there must be something around here to be wary of."

Of course, the maid would want to stick close to Remilia, but she knew the vampire was capable of taking care of herself - until they saw better reason, splitting up in a small area would help them search more quickly.

Eiki was looking around intently, the lack of sound or movement was indeed quite curious. Considering that the rest of the ship was crawling with life it was interesting that this area was devoid of it, it was also sad. As if it intensified the fact that all the people who had lived here were now gone. Where had they gone? This was her greatest concern, she wanted to know what had happened to these people. At the same time she was glad there was lack of activity, it meant that everyone would be safe and less of a reason for their loved ones to worry about them.

She listened as Remilia and Sakuya talked, and could not help but look towards Karen with the maids suggestion. She wondered about that but said nothing.

"It's quite fortunate this area is one of the safer ones. There will be less issues and what you have come to search for should be easier to retrieve," she spoke in a cheerful conversational tone. "But I will make sure Karen comes to no harm."

THE GHOSTS be_my_servant March 13 2011, 09:09:25 UTC
[After traversing a few floor up Sigrun's massive residential area, the strange shadows dancing just out of sight are growing in number and volume. There is now no doubt that they are there, not mere fragments of the imagination, and ears no longer need to be strained to hear their haunting voices. However, they don't seem to be doing anything, other than skitter on the edge of your vision. Proceed as normal, and let the scavenging begin among the middle-class refugee quarters.]

[To those more interested in the scenery, a number of interface panels lining the way have been opened, some more forcefully than others, and wires rearranged. Some wires have even been stripped and spliced together. Someone, or something, has obviously been here first.]

[It is to be noted, however, that while the ghosts are passive, their numbers begin to rapidly increase. By the time the team is ready to move on to the upper-class district, the flock of shadows sitting just outsite your vision is almost suffocating ( ... )

Well, the floors below had been an absolute bust. Although, that was likely to be expected from the poorest of Sigrun's (previous) refugee population. The lights flickered briefly as Remilia ascended to the middle-class floors. At least they had encountered no problems, yet...

.........stay a-ay....

If one excluded the strange voices and shadows whispering about. The vampire classified the abnomalies as harmless; they didn't seem to be hostile-hell, they didn't even step fully into her vision-and hadn't tried to interfere yet. The shadows didn't spook her, either, so Remilia simply shoved them to the back of her attention.

"Keep searching. We still have a lot of ground to cover." Her eyes glanced over the walls and the exposed panels and wires. It meant nothing to the vampire; technology was far from her strong point. With that, she floated off to the closest room cluster.

Eiki was more concerned about the visions and sounds than really looking. Where they really ghosts? Or perhaps they were simply echoes of a tragedy. If they were lost souls though something should be done. Why were they simply left like this? It was irresponsible, they needed to be moved on. But, no matter how hard she tried she could not focus on them, she could not discern what it was they were or how to fix the issue. If they were echoes they were of no concern, but if they were souls....

"They are increasing, and this is concerning."

By now, Sakuya had decided to ignore the things - apparitions, illusions, whatever they were - floating about on the edge of her vision. They didn't seem capable of actually doing anything, so they were a mere point of curiosity, nothing more. At the least, they didn't seem capable of driving away monsters, so they didn't solve the mystery they were investigating.

Quietly, she moved into another separate room cluster, looking about and keeping her ears open in case something should take a turn for the worse.

THE ENGINEER be_my_servant March 13 2011, 09:09:52 UTC
[As the wealthiest of the refugee dwellings, the the top floor promises the most in the ways of salvagable items. It seems like the perfect looting environment, with gravity, life support, power (usually), and minimal space pests. That is, not couting the choking numbers of shadows dancing at the end of your vision. By now they are almost impossible to ignore and their voices growing towards the volume of shouting. More and more 'leave!' and 'stay away!' slip through the unintelligable language as the team progresses. There is something here they do not want to be found...]

[Which becomes ever so evident when the team crosses the threshold of a paticular dwelling. The voices are growing angry, and the shadowy creatures begin stepping into sight...]

[[OOC: Here, the ghosts are nearly impossible to block out. They start to step into sight, surrounding and flocking to the team in incredible numbers. Once the plot item is discovered, the ghosts will grow angry (this will be cued), becoming these. The hushed tones and wails shift into ( ... )

As the team stepped up to the top floor of Sigrun's refugee quarters, even through the cloud of haunting noise and flickering shades, Remilia couldn't take her eyes off one paticular dwelling across the way.

It was bigger than the rest. The other dwellings were of considerable size, surpassing Thor's Suites, but that one... the vampire was absolutely drawn to it. She had to see inside it. It still wasn't close to the size of her Scarlet Devil Mansion, but still...

Without a word, and temporarily distracted from the ghosts, the vampire began floating towards that massive housing unit.

"Milady?" As obnoxious as the, the... ghosts or whatever were, the maid's first and foremost concern was how her mistress was acting, floating off like that into the horde of apparitions like bat into mist. Quickly catching up with her, Sakuya turned a curious look towards the direction she was headed, then back to her.

"Did you find something?"

Eiki considered how the aerations continued to grow, and the way they warned. Now that she was able to better focus on them she was able to better consider what they really were. She also considered if they were possibly increasing based on where they were going rather than time spent. Part of her thought about going back to where they were before to test the theory.

"I think we are growing closer to whatever it is we're looking for."

THE CAMP be_my_servant March 13 2011, 09:10:25 UTC
[The ghosts are no longer an issue. They fade back into the peripherals, quietly hovering in place. With that settled, a sort of unoffical base is set up in the lead engineer's dwelling. The residential district is still and silent once more, and the mission objective assigned from the Thor's Captains has been achieved. Of course, that doesn't mean the team is alone just yet.]
[By the way... you'll have an ominous feeling that the data stick is going to be highly important, later... Don't loose it.]

[[OOC: Use this time to rest, discuss the aftermath, examine the data gained, and of course, have Thor-nanigans, or whatever you want to do. And salvage some more, in cause the ghosts were too distracting. For more fun-time encounters, there are space pests lurking ("tentacle rats, blob spiders, deep space shriekbats, or whatever else your mind can come up with," quoth Sigrun data)) in the vents. Do what you will with this~]]
