The ominous yellow writing emblazoned across the unnaturally large doors had already made the first Doctor uneasy, and he shivered violently from both discomfort and from the sudden chill as the doors opened. But despite his apprehension, this was a very good sign for him - his service had hardly been needed thus far, and it was unlikely that anything alive would be found in this cold and unnaturally low pressure.

The hall ahead reminded him vaguely of a biosafety lab - cold, sterile and unfeeling. But the dim, oft-flickering lights gave it an unsettling element of danger, as well, as if the very walls could crumble down around them should they upset its balance. He had an idea that whatever project they would find halted in progress, it wouldn't be of small value - whatever it was, these research labs were built for a very clear purpose...

"I wouldn't expect anything dangerous could have survived long in these temperatures," Kiriko began quietly, cautiously glancing over the hall before them. He took a few silent steps through the ( ... )

Besides the possibility of fighting something interesting, Kamui wasn't actually entirely sure why he'd decided to tag along on this pointless (in his opinion of course) mission. Maybe he genuinely was curious about what might have happened to the ship and it's people. It would be entertaining, at least. Something to do to pass the increasingly dull time. Though frankly, he really didn't care either way.

In all honestly, he was far too interested in good ol' Doctor Kiriko, and had pretty much decided to make sure the old man didn't get eaten by something on the Sigrun. It would be a real shame if such an interesting person were to be killed, after all. Well, not that he'd admit to as much.

With a cheerful little smile on his face and his parasol propped across his shoulder, Kamui strolled straight ahead, seemingly oblivious to the fact that something horrible could probably pop out at any second and try to maul him. Truthfully, he was kind of hoping something like that would happen. This would be a pretty boring trip otherwise ( ... )

Mysterious labs, flickering lights, it was like the setup for every sci-fi horror film John had ever heard of, and somehow he'd ended up right in the middle of it. All it needed now was for some kind of zombified creature to show up. John tightened his grip on his gun and told himself to stop giving the universe ideas as he followed the others into the formerly locked down area ( ... )

Wesker stepped away from the console and followed the remainder of his "team" into the new area. The noise the doors made behind him as they closed echoed throughout what felt like the rest of the Sigrun; it was a hollow sound, embedded with finality. As if to say, You're not turning back now.

How ominous. How... fitting.

What lights there were flickered unhelpfully. Wesker was grateful for his enhanced eyesight, and merely adjusted his sunglasses once more instead of removing them, like any normal person might have done in his situation. The air around them felt recycled, for lack of a better word. It wasn't like the air he breathed on the Thor, though; this was something much more stagnant, something that would easily allow awful things to fester and grow in the appropriate atmosphere.

A promising observation, that.

"I suppose no one keeps their research notes on paper any more," he said, with the slightest hint of irony in his tone. He didn't keep his own research notes on paper any more. Everything was stored ( ... )

Kiriko had opened his mouth to bicker with Kamui, but shut it promptly when he reminded himself he was in professional company. His response became a simple shrug.

"If we find a terminal, there has to be a way to still access the information..." Kiriko mumbled to himself, although he understood very little of modern computers. He trusted, however, that the information wasn't so easily lost forever, and that there must be one way or another to access them. It would take some time, but he could rewire a working power source into a machine, if necessary - or, if it was battery-operated, bring the hardware back into working condition. His curiosity was mounting, and the apprehension drove him to discover what might lie ahead as soon as possible ( ... )
