On the contrast, Flynn was staying home more and more. Not because of anything outside, but because he'd spent most of his time either reading books he'd gotten from the library or hanging up decorations around the apartment.
He'd been doing the latter, though he soon realized that he was out of decorations. Out of tinsel, out of bulbs, and there was one sprig of mistletoe still needed. But there was a second problem: Flynn didn't have much money for himself at the moment. And no money meant no decorations, and no decorations meant that their apartment was only half in the Christmas spirit. It would be bad to have the place like this when Yuri's birthday came around.
It was a private relief for Flynn to see Yuri home and safe with Repede, though he hated to break up what looked like such a fun game. "Yuri, do you want to go out somewhere? I have a few things I'd like to do." A white lie never hurt, and they were technically going someplace.
Yuri paused the game and glanced over curiously. Funny that he hadn't seen Flynn that much when he'd wanted him to move in so badly. Stupid, really - it wasn't the first time they'd had a fight and they always made up sooner or later. It wasn't as though they weren't still best friends, even if things were a little weird.
"Yeah, all right." He didn't ask if Repede were invited; he just assumed he was. Turning the console and television off, he stood up and stretched, a move echoed by the dog beside him. "Where are we going?"
Oh Yuri definitely wouldn't like where they were going. Shopping never was one of Yuri's favorite things, Flynn recalled, but he himself found a bit of happiness in it. Even window shopping. It was that sort of freedom you had that came with free time.
"Surprise." Flynn definitely couldn't have Repede coming along though, that'd ruin his present for the dog. He'd look for Yuri and Wolfram's on a later date, though he'd been eying something he saw in one of the stores on the ship. "Repede, will you stay here and keep watch?"
He raised an eyebrow at that, but went along with it. It couldn't be that bad and he could always leave if he got bored. Yuri wasn't sure where Flynn could have found that was fun, but it wasn't as though he had other plans.
Leaving Repede behind was weird, though. "Expecting Wolfram to burn the place down while we're gone?"
