Sara was dreaming of a rocky beach at twilight, near a sandstone bench shaped like a frog. Around her neck is an irridescent amber egg.

There are lights in the distance, and she watches them, and smiles. Behind her is something that looks like... well this, scaled up to have a human pilot.

Polly was climbing one of the glowing marble buildings of her people's city when she looked out over the plains beyond it and noticed that the sky was darkening, and Calabi-Yau had somehow acquired an ocean. Standing on its shore, she could make out something white and gleaming--it looked like something that belonged on the Thor. After a moment of staring at it in disbelief, she climbed quickly back down and ran out to investigate.

The robot turned to face her, spinning, an arm detatching and unfolding into a gleaming cannon.

Sara spun with it, then relaxed. "It's okay, Lilith," she said. "She's not one of them. She's a friend, or at least not an enemy."

The girl skidded to a halt, more than slightly surprised to have a cannon aimed at her. At Sara's words, she nods, rather emphatically--she's definitely not an enemy.

"I'm Polly... Who are you?"

[There's a beaten dirt road in the middle of a forest - follow it for long enough and a faint path will branch off and disappear into the woods. If one were to follow that, one would soon come upon a house, little more than a shack, in the middle of a largeish but unremarkable clearing ( ... )

[Polly followed the road curiously. The path, when she comes to it, just seems to... stand out, strangely. As if it were somehow brighter than the rest of the surroundings. She knows instinctively that this is the way she's supposed to go.]

[She approaches the little house with wide eyes, and a slight frission up her spine. The scent draws her in. An Eternal didn't need food, true, but this particular one had learned that she certainly liked it. And it smelled wonderful.]

[She only hesitates slightly before stepping up to the threshold and tapping lightly on the door.]

[Alone in the middle of the day, with his books for company and the anticipation of a good evening meal heightened by the smell of simmering onions, the last thing Hakkai was expecting was a knock at the front door - much less a polite one. His usual visitors never knocked, and it would be kind of ridiculous for his roommate to.

He was further perplexed upon opening the door to reveal a young woman; one who looked familiar to him for some reason, but who he couldn't immediately place why.]

...Ah, yes? Can I help you?

[As soon as she recognizes him, Polly's face lights up with a grin.]

Mr. Hakkai!

[It was only a split second later that she realized that he didn't recognize her. Oh...]

[She holds out a hand.]

I'm... I'm Polly.

After twice recieving unexpected visitors in bed almost consecutively throughout the month, Ukitake had been sleeping considerably lighter of late - and light sleep didn't much contribute to substantial dreams ( ... )

Polly had been walking through the courtyard behind her mother's house when she felt the first raindrop. She stared up at the sky, shocked, at first... then smiling. She knew how to make umbrellas... Really, she did.

But, well...

The last time she'd seen rain, she hadn't had the sense to come in out of it, then, either.

She walked in it, aimlessly, simply trusting the dream to bring her to the dreamer--after all, that was the only way rain could happen here without her remembering it on purpose. It was only a few moments before she saw the koi pond, and across from it, the house, through the shining curtains of silver.

Recognizing the figure under the porch, she quickened her step, a smile on her face.

It didn't take him very long to spot the flash of bright red bobbing up out of the monotone gray of the pouring rain - focusing his attention on it, Ukitake blinked in surprise when the figure bearing the red came into view. Red hair...and, as it drew nearer, a familiar face framed by it. Ah, he knew this person, didn't he? ...Yes, he did, he knew he did...but who...?

Ukitake wasn't often prone to forgetting faces, or the names accompanying them - and so this dilemma was mildly baffling, if not a bit disconcerting as well. Still, the person was approaching, and just standing there staring wouldn't do any good at all, now would it...?

He put on a smile and raised a hand, then, in a cheerful enough wave - and he called a greeting, hopefully loud enough to hear over the steady patter of the rain. Some courtesy was best implemented irregardless, after all...

"Ah, hello there!"

"Hello, Mr. Jushiro!" Polly called back, picking up her pace a little more. She was, by now, soaked to the bone and perhaps shivering just a bit, but she didn't much care. Rain was even more rare to her than it was to Ukitake.

Rounding the koi pond and hopping up onto the little covered porch, she beamed up at her mentor.

"Thank you for the rain!"
