[Haruhi wasn't doing anything of particular importance when Tamaki came 'round a callin'. She was sitting down at the kitchen table going over some financial statements -- rent for her room and other monthly expenses. She had to re-adjust her budget for this month because there were no sign-up jobs, which she hadn't foreseen.
At the knocking she glanced up and looked around for a room-mate rushing to the door to see who was there or some similar action, but all was quiet. She was alone. Well... Jade was always off doing something in his room (or, lately, in jail) and Chouno... well, she didn't like to think about what he did so long as he didn't bother her. And Ed was a busy guy.
She stood and tucked in the chair before walking over to the door and asking who it was.]
Who's there, door?
[The door responded in a hush tone, as though this was some sort of secret mission (or maybe it was just being a woman and had a door-crush on Tamaki), "It's a handsome young man with light hair and an incredible smile!" Haruhi sweatdropped a bit
( ... )
[That smile? Instant at seeing her. Well, he had already been smiling since there was no way he would be able to call himself a man if he were to show up at a girl's door and be frowning about it, but the smile grew wider for a second before it lit up into a genuine one.
[The door giggled as his smile grew and Haruhi couldn't help but to sweatdrop again. Did doors actually have feelings? She knew about artificial intelligence but this was taking it a bit far. Still... it's not like she could blame the door. His smile could knock girls into a perpetual state of unconsciousness.]
No, not really. I'm just going over some stuff, but it's not all that important.
[she taps her finger on her chin]
Well, I guess it's important, but it doesn't have an expiration date like food does.
What's up?
[She tilts her head a little as she says that last part, blinking, and looking up at Tamaki with her own quirky little smile]
[For a second he thought he was going to turn red from how cute he found her smile to be, but the mention of the word food was a good distraction. Must stay on track.]
I have a surprise! I really think you'll like it and it might, ah-- disappear if we don't hurry.
[Or, you know, get cold. Slight pause, then a small gasp as he remembers something.]
Ah! But it's a secret surprise, so you have to close your eyes until I tell you to open them, okay? Please?
[horrible thoughts of her slamming into random aliens who might engulf her into their bodies so she floats around in there flood her mind because THAT'S HAPPENED BEFORE and while it was...an interesting experience she's not too keen on doing it again]
Are you going to lead me there? I don't really want to slam into any walls. Or get eaten.
