It's not a total loss, but I imagine midnight movie enthusiasts around Austin are a little disappointed by this: Alamo Drafthouse closes downtown location.

I love that place... I saw the Life Aquatic there when it first came out a few years ago.
Luckily, we have an almost identical theatre here in Oakland called the Parkway. You should definitely check it out while you are here your next visit!

The location is the reason I don't go to the one downtown. If I am not in the downtown area, I go to the one on Lamar.
