For making $49 million on opening weekend -- partially thanks to schmucks like me who took in the midnight show Thursday night -- this movie is catching all sorts of flack. So I thought I'd chime in.

Thanks much. And is it me, or was that crowd the closest thing to a Rocky audience you'd ever seen at a mainstream film? That bunch was ON, man.

I hate how they dont even NAME Eddie Brock as Venom in the story! WHERE IS THE CLASSIC "WE ARE VENOM!!" ?!?!?! And how is it that Harry Osborne can take a pumpkin bomb to the FACE and survive but you see Brock's ribcage during the explosion with absolutely no other Eddie debris anywhere?!? My only hope is that the suit bonded with him just as the bomb went off and the floor just collapsed below him due to the combination of pipes and bomb.

Personally I thought the whole Harry turning good thing was lame. Have him come in and start firing at Spiderman. Have HIM and Sandman team on Spiderman. Makes for more emo drama when Spidey has to kill his best friend.

I agree, there should have been a fourth movie. All Venom.

I agree with your criticisms. And I also leaned over to Rachel and said "Look! Emo Spiderman!" I also complained that it suffered from too many bad guys in a single movie.

I did want to ask about Tobey in Sin City... Are you referring to Elijah Woods as Kevin? Rachel pointed it out to me that it was EW and not TM in that part.

I loved the first two, so I had high expectations.

The whole experience of seeing the movie was fun, though. Interacting with all of my fellow movie geeks and hard core Spidey fans was a blast!

But, as far as actually watching movies goes, I prefer Hot Fuzz. THAT was entertainment!
