Oh, I liked this! Fraser's inability to bring out the most important words and Ray's casual assertion that he could have said that any time were just beautiful.

And, you know, hot pr0n is always of the good.

Thank you! I'm glad to hear that you think did your prompt justice. (Did you see how skillfully and seamlessly I worked it in! By plopping it RIGHT at the beginning of a paragraph? Nabokov's got nothin' on me!)

Thanks for the kind words, Tara!

Heeee, "I like that they had sex, and then angsted about it" is the BEST description of a story I've read in ages. Thank you! And I'm glad you think my Fraser was believable. (Not that I know anything about reserved Canadians. Not at all).

YAY!!! Oh, boys. This is lovely, hesitant and messed up and gorgeous. And the sex was so hot! This is everything I heart in a fic... lonely, yearning Fraser trying to bridge that gap but getting in the way of himself; Ray seen through Fraser's eyes as this beautiful unreacheable enigma who is actually very real and down to earth and trying so hard to get to Fraser; cameo Welsh (even offscreen he wins my heart); cameo Dief (ditto); the need for love. Plus I've always enjoyed the trope of "having sex with each other but completely not getting that the love is not unrequited." Yum. Deliciously hot angst.

And, as always, your excellent character voices:
“That’s good.” Ray didn’t sound convinced. “You, uh, file anything interesting lately?”

“Regrettably, no.”

Hee!

Beautiful work, Nos!

Thank you, hon! I wrote a first time fic JUST for you! (Well, okay, it wasn't *dedicated* to you, but it's there between the lines. "Dess is gonna kill me if I make her read another est-rel fic").

I'm glad you liked the file line! I'm doing this new thing where I inject humour in places where I'd normally amputate something. We'll see how it goes.

This is fabulous! The hot, hot sex was, er, hot (pre-coffee...my vocab, it isn't).

This is such a believable Fraser to me; so brave and honest about all things in life but HIMSELF, and bearing the shame of knowing that about himself -- you can just hear his inner self screaming "coward!" at him. So he gets to the point of taking things to extremes in order to avoid the unavoidable. Then he's up against Ray who just IS like some zen being, and doesn't understand, and keeps asking "What do you want from me?"

Awesome writing, great story, lovely spine-melting sex! YAY!

And this line is a classic, a keeper, and SO Fraser:
He wasn’t first in Ray’s heart, nor was he anything else to Ray that could be easily expressed by a greeting card.
heh.

Oh, c'mon, this was pretty simple porn. Complex porn would involve, like, diagrams or people-models or something to work out the mechanics. :-)
