[eventually, she gets tired of sitting around and decides to move to the ballroom and watch everyone. occasionally, she smiles at the others or laugh to herself if they're dancing funny. but mostly, she's just standing.]

[He leads her to the dance floor with a grin and then attempts to lead her in a dance-but he really only knows how to dance to club music and this is strings. Maybe if he smiles big enough she'll forgive him for all the hip shaking?]

[He laughs when Maka joins in. Suddenly it's not such a big deal that he doesn't know how to ballroom dance. At least the two of them can dance in the ballroom and enjoy it, right?]

[she looks rather surprised. it's one thing to have someone come up to her and ask her to dance right then and there. but to have a guy waiting for an opportunity to dance with her for as long as a year?! it's definitely something she wasn't expecting.]
