[This would be time for Kyoya's unimpressed face]

Renge, I don't suppose you'd care to explain the meaning of this?

Um... Well, let's see...

[ YES? ]

[ - no... ]

[ Um, maybe. She'd explain it if she knew anything about it herself. You can't win a marriage. ]

I don't quite understand it myself, Kyouya-kun. [ BUT DOES SHE SOUND UNHAPPY?! NOOOOOOPE. ]

You realise, I hope, how incredibly inappropriate this is.

[Not that he's mentioned he knows about her and Kaoru yet. But that may not last.

It should also be noted he has his Guide out and is hunting for anyone who is either responsible for or would be able to help with this predicament.]

It's not -

[ - inappropriate or unwanted or - or anything like that. He seemed to be making it a big bad ordeal already, where as she was just sort of taking it in. Maybe with increasing giddiness because, oh...oh, if this was shaping up like it was proving to, she would have absolutely no qualms about it. ]

[ (...Maybe a few. Namely revolving around Kaoru and...having...not told Kyouya about him. Did this count as cheating? She didn't think so - it wasn't as if they were actually married. Not legally, anyway.) ]

[ ... (She'd have to check with the Vogons. Just to be safe.) ]

...It's not that bad~ It's probably not what we're thinking it is, anyway~

[ Please be what we think it is please be what we think it is please be what we think it is. ]

[Kyoya looks up, his gaze cold as he holds up the finger which is now adorned with a wedding ring]

I find it highly unlikely that there are many alternative possibilities. Still, there must be someone on board this ship who can set things right.

[And he's determined to find them]

so i'm a failboat, but...! ukidoki_orgasm November 9 2011, 06:55:32 UTC
[ Personally, she likes the wedding ring. She hopes it'll leave a tan...! ]

[ And to her credit, she doesn't flinch at his words, nor the determination behind them. Merely cocks her head slightly and casually asks; ]

And you want to go look for them...right now?

I see no cause to delay. I have rather more urgent matters which require my attention and I'm certain you would prefer to resolve this sooner rather than later. After all, we wouldn't want Kaoru to get the wrong idea, would we?

[aaaaaaaand there's the bombshell]

[ ...Is it bad -]

[ That she hadn't paid a single thought to Kaoru since the idea of being married somewhat began to set in? If not bad, it's visual, as her facial features fall somewhat and she looks away, 1/4 shamefaced. ]

Well, I -

[ ...false start. She swallows. ]

Um. I think he's - Kaoru-kun's very smart. I doubt he'd get the wrong idea. And - and think! We can't be the only people married, and everyone else is probably rushing down to the Vogon's right now. I bet the line goes on for miles.

Then better we are in that line that not, don't you think?

[Oh he's caught that look. That's not a good look at all. But he's not one to meddle unnecessarily and right now he really needs to concentrate on getting them unmarried]

ukidoki_orgasm November 12 2011, 06:55:45 UTC
Well... What if we're not allowed to? What if we can't be unmarried? Maybe it's like the drive and we can't undo it until it undoes itself...

[ She might be grasping at a few straws, but it's a legit thought in her head. A promising thought, actually, but now that he's gone and mentioned Kaoru... ]

[ Her stomach hurt a little - tensed and almost comically bubbling. ]

If we went down there, the Vogon's would just laugh at us!

For them to laugh at us would require them to possess a sense of humour. Either way, I would rather ask and find out for certain whether or not that is the case than to assume it will fix itself when it quite possible may not.

[And now he's looking up at her, that knowing, scrutinising gaze that makes it clear he knows what's going on]

If you wish to cling to this childish fantasy over something that developed naturally, I cannot stop you. But Kaoru is my friend and I feel it is in all our best interests that we resolve this matter quickly and without hesitation.

[ She was really quite tempted to argue that the Vogons did have a sense of humor, but that it differed so greatly from theirs that they would just laugh at their shame and embarrassment - which was really just all the more reason to put this thing off, but... ]

[ But he was right. As always. It wouldn't quite be the same Kyouya-kun if he wasn't right, but accuracy can still suck. ]

[ Renge hung her head slightly and did her best to rangle those straying emotions before shrugging in her best imitation of a noncommittal way. ]

... Okay. Let's... [ OH IT PHYSICALLY PAINS HER TO SAY IT YOU KNOW] -... go.

I'm glad you agree.

[He stands, moving to the door and holding it open for her to exit first. Just because he's annoyed doesn't mean he can't be a gentleman - after all, it's not exactly Renge's fault even if she could stand to be a little less reluctant about fixing things]

[ The fact that annoyance had been palpable in the room just moments before made the action even more gallant and chivalrous, and she almost smiles but can't. He would be nice, of course - it was practically part of his character. But Renge felt he'd draw the line at possibly holding hands while they walked. ]

[ ...No, probably not. ]

[ She didn't have the gusto to sigh with as she met him at the door and passed thorough the doorway. ]

... I didn't even know one could get married without permission from both sides of the party.

[He follows her out of the apartment, his pace determined but not so fast as to leave her behind]

Well, arranged marriages are common in many sectors of society. Even so, the betrothed are usually advised of their impending nuptials before they occur.
